Epoch making recent advances in computer systems, applications, and networking
technologies, along with their widespread diffusion have completely
revolutionized every aspect of human endeavor. In particular, these
collective advances in the field of Information Technology (IT) have
radically transformed the economics of traditional business models and are
in the process of giving birth to new business systems driven by new value
drivers and strategies. Additionally, the advent of the Internet has further
transformed business operations and brought into prominence the science of
logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain management, dealing with operations
management across multiple enterprises comprising the supply chain. The
universal reach of the Internet has made possible the ubiquitous,
uninterrupted, and opportune flow of information at economically viable
prices /costs, allowing integrated, informed and intelligent decision-making
and enabling greater efficiencies within and across the supply chain.
The key objective of this workshop is to provide a state-of-the-art research
and technology update in the areas of manufacturing, logistics, and supply
chain management to academics, students, and industry professionals. This
workshop will bring together some of the finest researchers, technologists,
and practioners in these areas, to present their perspectives. Thought
leaders and accomplished researchers from across the world will congregate
to share their findings, unearth path-breaking approaches to shared problems,
and discover common research interests in the closely inter-related areas of
supply chain management, IT enabled logistics, E-business, and manufacturing
automation.
