Abstract:
ndustrial sites such as power plants and hospitals host
equipment that are critical for the sites as well as for the
communities
they serves. Service delivery in the context of such equipment revolves
around the data generated during operation. Among other things, such
data can be used for monitoring, diagnostics, and prognostics from the
site as well as remotely. In the context of GE, this talk will
summarize
some of the recent advances and continuing challenges in realizing
customer value from services based on monitoring and diagnostics.
Advances in this kind of global service delivery rely on a synthesis of
sensor informatics, data management, communication technologies,
machine
learning, and decision sciences.
